Position Description: A world leader in the field compact vehicles and equipment.

Generate, evaluate, analyze, and develop design concepts for systems, components and assemblies to achieve new product requirements and current product improvements. Provide technical leadership for product development teams. Responsible for developing processes to release a product with a high quality level. Plans, releases, and coordinates implementation of Engineering Change Notices. Ensures the correct processes, tooling and equipment are available to manufacture related parts in house or at a specified supplier in a safe, quality and cost effective manner. Responsible for determining and improving overall quality of product; as experts in testing, must be able to provide insight and sound advice about the product.

1. Will be given some smaller scale projects, along with possible intermediate level projects
2. Responsible for leading 1-2 associates in projects; under less supervision than Engineer I position
3. Deliver complete product design solution/manufacturing processes as part of the stage-gate process
4. Provide design support for current production products.
5. Investigate and develop new technologies
6. Protect confidential and intellectual property (e.g. prepare patent disclosures)
7. Build the technical knowledge base of engineering department
8. Reviews engineering changes and new product designs, determines cost (materials, labor, and tooling) to purchase and/or manufacture parts, and generates Capital Expense Request.
9. Provides processes and equipment that will insure products with the highest level of quality possible. Develops systems that are self-regulating and require minimal subjective analysis.
10. Recommends product / process improvements by initiating Engineering Change Requests (ECR's); implements such improvements immediately through use of the Deviation process.
11. Design apparatus, specifies and procuring outside components required, performs engineering calculations to ensure the test stand is designed to perform as intended.

Education: Bachelors Degree Mechanical Engineering (Bsme)


Requirements
SKILLS:

Knowledge of testing processes and stress analysis, electronic principles, of vehicle dynamics and a working knowledge of DC Electricity. Must possess strong mechanical and electrical ability as well as the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Design Project Management; Analysis and simulation of complex systems; Correlation of analysis to testing; General design principles; Mechanical systems (ME). Must have knowledge of tooling, dies, machining, welding, and assembly techniques. Must acquire the ability to apply company philosophies to all aspects of project management. Must be able to complete major projects with little or no supervision.
